Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026. This policy explains what SPREADD collects, where it is stored, how it is used, and how you can delete it.
Data Stored on Device
SPREADD stores meal plans, saved recipes, grocery lists, profile preferences, timers, app settings, and conversation history on your device so the app can reopen in the same state. You can clear local app data from Profile > Settings.
Account and Identity Data
SPREADD creates a Firebase authentication session for app operation. You may use the app anonymously. If you create or join a family, Sign in with Apple can link your Apple ID to the same app account. SPREADD stores app account identifiers, household membership, invite state, and subscription entitlement status, but it does not receive your Apple account password or full payment card details.
Cloud Sync and Family Sharing
When you use family sharing, household recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, member display names, food preferences, activity entries, and member profiles are stored in Firebase Firestore so household members can sync and collaborate. Recipe images shared with a household may be uploaded to Firebase Storage. Other members of the same household can view shared household content.
AI Requests and Images
When you use AI chat, your prompts, selected conversation context, attached images, generated tool results, profile preferences, recipes, meal plans, and grocery-list context may be sent through Firebase Functions and processed by Google's Gemini service to generate a response. Do not submit passwords, payment information, or other sensitive information you do not want processed by the AI feature.
AI Usage Records
SPREADD stores limited AI usage records, such as request counts, model names, token counts, estimated cost, timestamps, and request status. These records are used to meter free and paid AI access, prevent abuse, debug reliability, and show rolling usage progress. Usage records are written by server-side Cloud Functions.
Analytics
SPREADD uses Firebase Analytics to understand app health, onboarding completion, retention, subscription flow status, and broad feature use. Analytics may include app interaction, device, and approximate region metadata. Analytics events are designed to avoid user content: they should not include chat prompts, recipe names, grocery item names, invite codes, allergy text, uploaded images, email addresses, or display names. SPREADD does not use analytics data for cross-app tracking.
Photos, Voice, Calendar, and Reminders
If you grant permission, SPREADD can use your camera or photo library to attach images to chat, your microphone and Apple's speech recognition to turn speech into chat text, Calendar access to write meal-plan events, and Reminders access to export grocery-list items. These permissions are optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple's in-app purchase system. SPREADD receives verified transaction and entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock personal or family features and maintain subscription status. Billing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple.
Third-Party Services
SPREADD uses Firebase services for authentication, database storage, file storage, app integrity checks, analytics, and Cloud Functions; Google's Gemini service for AI responses; Apple's services for Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, Calendar, Reminders, and speech recognition; and the App Store for distribution and billing. These providers are expected to protect user data under terms and safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable law, and they process data only as needed to operate those features.
Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you clear it or delete the app. Cloud data remains while your app account or household needs it for sync, subscriptions, AI metering, support, security, or legal compliance. You can use Profile > Settings > Delete Account & Cloud Data to request deletion of the current user's cloud data. Household data shared by multiple members may remain available to other household members unless the household or shared item is deleted.
Your Choices
You can avoid entering an optional display name, avoid creating or joining a family, decline optional iOS permissions, manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, clear local app data, and use Delete Account & Cloud Data for cloud deletion. Some features may not work without the permissions or data needed to provide them.
